Universal Dependencies for the AnCora treebanks Dependencias Universales para los treebanks AnCora
نویسندگان
چکیده
The present article describes the conversion of the Catalan and Spanish AnCora treebanks to the Universal Dependencies formalism. We describe the conversion process and assess the quality of the resulting treebank in terms of parsing accuracy by means of monolingual, cross-lingual and cross-domain parsing evaluation. The converted treebanks show an internal consistency comparable to the one shown by the original CoNLL09 distribution of AnCora, and indicate some differences in terms of multiword expression inventory with regards to the already existing UD Spanish treebank. The two new converted treebanks will be released in version 1.3 of Universal Dependencies.

متن کاملFrom constituents to syntax-oriented dependencies De constituyentes a dependencias de base sintáctica
This paper describes the automatic process of building a dependency annotated corpus based on Ancora constituent structures. The Ancora corpus already has a dependency structure information layer, but the new annotated data applies a purely syntactic orientation and offers in this way a new resource to the linguistic research community. The paper details the process of reannotating the corpus, ...
متن کاملAn annotation scheme for Persian based on Autonomous Phrases Theory and Universal Dependencies
A treebank is a corpus with linguistic annotations above the level of the parts of speech. During the first half of the present decade, three treebanks have been developed for Persian either originally or subsequently based on dependency grammar: Persian Treebank (PerTreeBank), Persian Syntactic Dependency Treebank, and Uppsala Persian Dependency Treebank (UPDT). The syntactic analysis of a sen...
متن کاملA non-projective greedy dependency parser with bidirectional LSTMs
The LyS-FASTPARSE team presents BIST-COVINGTON, a neural implementation of the Covington (2001) algorithm for non-projective dependency parsing. The bidirectional LSTM approach by Kiperwasser and Goldberg (2016) is used to train a greedy parser with a dynamic oracle to mitigate error propagation. The model participated in the CoNLL 2017 UD Shared Task. In spite of not using any ensemble methods...
متن کاملLooking Behind the Scenes of Syntactic Dependency Corpus Annotation: Towards a Motivated Annotation Schema of Surface-Syntax in Spanish
Over the last decade, the prominence of statistical NLP applications that use syntactic rather than only word-based shallow clues increased very significantly. This prominence triggered the creation of large scale treebanks, i.e., corpora annotated with syntactic structures. However, a look at the annotation schemata used across these treebanks raises some issues. Thus, it is often unclear how ...
